iPhone 7 To Upgrade or Not To Upgrade That is the Question
Since the unveiling of the new iPhone 7, Apple users have been caught in a heated debate on whether they should upgrade or not to the new iPhone 7. The main controversy surrounding the phone is the exclusion of the headphone jack, which has been a standard in smart phones since the launch of the first iPhone in 2007. Another controversial issue surrounding the iPhone 7 is the home screen button, which is now a static, digital button, much like their competitor’s phones (such as the Motorola Moto Z or the OnePlus 3). Instead of being able to physically press the button, Apple users interact with the button as if it is like the back or list button on an Android phone.
However, contrary to popular belief, this upgrade is actually quite good since it will make the phone more durable. Out of every iPhone iteration, the home button was the first thing to break and malfunction. Also, by Apple removing the headphone jack, it has allowed them to make the phone more powerful by using their new A10 Fusion chip is a 64-bit, which is a quad core processor that Apple says is 40 percent faster than last year’s model. This allows the phones to last two hours longer than the iPhone 6S and three hours longer than the iPhone 6. They can also offer larger storage capabilities like their 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB storage options.
Apple is banking on their new camera functions to be a game changer. Apple has kept with the 12-megapixel camera, however the iPhone 7 gets a larger aperture and optical image stabilization. This allows you to take photos in poor lighting quality as well as images that are crisp and clear, even if you have a shaky hand. The iPhone 7 Plus has a second, 56mm telephoto lens on the back that works like a built-in zoom feature. Apple is also working on developing an accessory that will allow the user to incorporate artificial Bokeh in their photos, which will be the first time that a cell phone will be able to incorporate Bokeh into a photograph when the phone is more than a foot away from its subject.
We cannot forget to mention that the iPhone 7 is waterproof and offers surround sound, truly stereo speakers. There are so many positives with the iPhone 7 (especially compared to its Android competitor, the Samsung Note 7… we won’t even go there) that we feel if you have a iPhone 6 or later, that you should definitely consider updating.
